The Industrial Development Authority of Halifax County, Virginia (IDA) seeks to hire a Manager of Marketing & Business Development. The IDA is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia, whose mission is to increase employment and economic growth in Halifax County. The Manager of Marketing & Business Development will work in conjunction with the Executive Director in marketing of Halifax County to prospective industries. Broad duties and responsibilities include planning and implementing targeted strategies and tactics, coordinating Prospect Events Inside And Outside Of Halifax Co., developing and coordinating marketing materials, deploying marketing through various media (electronic, social, print, etc.), developing and maintaining productive relationships with economic development and community partners and allies, assisting the Executive Director in negotiating agreements and contracts with Prospects, managing capital incentive programs for prospect and current industries, and developing funding for projects to improve the IDA’s assets. The Manager of Marketing & Business Development position requires strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to quickly and thoroughly understand Halifax County’s economic development stakeholders, proven marketing experience, a willingness and ability to travel (day and overnight), proficiency in MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Prezi, proficiency with financial and planning software including MS Project and Quick Books, ability to manage edit and upload web-based content, an ability to work productively with community and economic development partners, and effective project and program management skills. Applicants must possess the following: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Economic Development, Business, or other relevant field. Five years minimum experience in marketing, economic development, business development, project management, grant writing, marketing, or a combination of these or other related fields. The applicant selected must reside in Halifax County beginning within one year of hire. Salary will be $55,000 – $65,000 DOQ, plus benefits.
