HALIFAX IDA LEASES SECOND FACILITY TO IPERIONX

The Board of Industrial Development Authority of Halifax County (IDA), approved the execution of a lease for the 1092 Confroy Drive building, a 15,000 square foot building to IperionX for their second Halifax County location. IperionX first announced its selection of Halifax County of its Titanium Demonstration Facility (TDF) in September 2022 with an anticipated investment of $82 million and 108 new jobs in phase I.

“The IDA is pleased to see IperionX continue to invest and plan for their long-term growth and success in Halifax County,” said Rick Harrell Chair of the IDA Board of Directors.

IperionX hosted its Board of Directors meeting in South Boston this week. With the group touring both IperionX leased facilities and the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research’s Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing program.

IperionX plans to create an advanced manufacturing center at the second facility with office, research & development and advanced manufacturing space. Improvements to the new facility have already begun and IperionX plans to occupy the space immediately.

“IperionX is delighted to increase the footprint of our business operations in Halifax County, with continued support from the Halifax County IDA and the local community. The facility at 1092 Confroy Drive will provide the base for an Advanced Manufacturing Center for IperionX to advance research & development and prototyping of products using our breakthrough low cost, sustainable titanium produced from 100% recycled material,” said Anastasios (Taso) Arima, IperionX CEO.

The new facility will complement the TDF that will be located at the former shell building in the Southern Virginia Technology Park. Construction on the shell building upfit provided for under the Halifax IDA construction allowance is expected to start on the TDF in late November, with the IDA voting to award the construction contract to J.E. Burton Construction of South Boston Virginia.
