Halifax Regional Hospital announced on Friday August 10, 2007 it will add two new floors of approximately 15,000 square feet each to the front tower facing Wilborn Avenue. Each floor will house 18 private patient rooms with two additional isolation rooms on each floor. The expansion is a $14 million expansion and renovation project.
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership announced on Wednesday August 8, 2007 the acceptance of Hilden America, Inc into the two-year Virginia Leaders in Export Trade (VALET) program. Participating firms are chosen based on their dedication to growth through export.
VIPER held its grand opening on Friday April 27, 2007 at its new facility at the Virginia Motorsports Technology Park at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) in Halifax County, Virginia. VIPER is a collaborative effort between Halifax County, Institute for Advanced Learning and Research, Virginia Tech, Old Dominion University and Virginia International Raceway (VIR).
Founders College is progressing very nicely since their announcement back in November 2006 of plans to purchase Berry Hill Plantation. Numerous open houses have been held for interested students entering in September 2007. Founders College selected the Berry Hill site based on its close proximity to the Research Triangle Corridor in North Carolina.
Scholarships to be awarded to 25 area students
Founders College today announced that it intends to purchase a 660-acre resort in South Boston, Va., providing first-class, customer-ready classroom, conference and campus facilities when the innovative, residential liberal arts and business school welcomes its first students in the fall of 2007.
